woke up feeling like crap today, but act garang, decided to go school since id be able to see someone in the morning anyway. haha. ended up going home after gp and skipping math and physics lecture. lucky revision lectures never teach much.. sweat and sneeze like duno what through gp test. couldnt feel any worse. got home and ate some of every medicine i could lay my hands on and knocked out within an hour..

oh wells, since its such a boring day, should start speaking about my tots on Voyaje 2008. i would definitely say that this years esplanade concert was the climax of our 07 batch. we came in as such a weak batch, relatively new even to singing. even the few of us dsas were not performing at our peak. screwed up our first major annual concert at the esplanade in our j1 chorus. "veggo dolce mio bene" such a simple song, yet we failed so terribly. SYF was another major blow to us, dont know what others think. but coming from a gold with honors choir and dsaing into ajchoir, i expected myself and more importantly ajchoir to have achieved better results..

voyage of songs 2007 held in pattaya was probably the turning point in our singing career. gotta take my hats off that people practiced 5 days a week during the entire june holidays.. everyone did their part, we went to pattaya, kicked some ass and came back with no regrets. i would say, mr tohs determination and perseverence definitely rubbed off on us too. he naver gave up on us and pushed us to greater heights, being both the teacher in charge and the conductor must have meant so much more added responsibility and stress. not mentioning probably working for free....

carolling session were definitely the most painful part for me. brushed up on my conducting skills, learnt alot from terrence toh once again, mainly on how to pose and all. haha. acoustics were always so bad, and sometimes there were just not enough power singers to make the song sound nice.. oh well, we all had fun tho.

ITALY trip. one main difference from our previous batches, we only practiced 4 times a week, went home almost punctually at 7.30 every session. j1 batch is real talented this year. good sops(you know who im talking about) and strong bass and tenor. the stress was on us that we had to match up to vjc and clinche the grand champions.. oh well. glad that we won in the end. despite their lousy show of sportsmanship, i think the german choir was real good. had fun in italy, good food. seriously want to migrate to europe some day. enjoy their pace of life. haha.

finally, voyaje 2008
our songs were relatively cheapo for our second half. with first half songs being the competition songs in italy.. think zongyi did a great job in choreo along with her choreo com and erin especially. sorry i couldnt help cos im rather noob at choreo. splendid performance,(think we did better in terms of entertainment value than vj) and everyone definitely enjoyed themselves.
our last song no importa la distancia was quite touching. it was at that point of time when i was singing the solo on stage that all the memories of the past suddenly came rushing into my head and i finally understood what the song really meant to our seniors. going the distance- ajchoir has really improved and come a long way.. it is sad that in a flash of an eye, we the j2s are already gone from the picture. all the happy memories, joking around with the basses, hanging out and bitching would definitely be remembered. and with the big bang at the end of the song, it signalled the end to my 6 years of choral life. never once regretted choosing choir over basketball in the first place. to all you j2s, hope you all had the same amount of fun while it lasted. for now, lets all concentrate and score for As! no importa la distancia and sayonara. love you peeps.
